FAJR Global Scholarship Contest

We are delighted to welcome FAJR Global as a sponsor for the 2025 AMMSA National Conference.

FAJR is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to delivering advanced medical and surgical care to communities in crisis, especially in regions such as Palestine, Lebanon, and Pakistan.

Since its inception, FAJR has carried out numerous medical missions, providing life-saving surgeries, medical evacuations, and essential healthcare supplies to underserved populations. They also emphasize capacity-building — training local medical professionals and helping restore healthcare infrastructure in areas where resources have been severely disrupted.

Our conference seeks to fuse visionary health and humanitarian storytelling with broader community engagement by partnering with FAJR. Together, we will highlight FAJR’s impactful work during conference sessions, bring in first-hand voices from their missions, and explore how health, healing, and community resilience intersect.

AMMSA × FAJR Global Writing Contest

As part of this collaboration, we are excited to launch the AMMSA × FAJR Global Writing Contest at the 2025 National Conference!

Registered attendees will have the chance to submit either an essay or a poem. Two winners will be selected for each amount. Selected winners will receive a cash prize and have their work highlighted at the conference, inshAllah.

This is a unique opportunity to showcase Muslim medical students' creativity, depth, and vision while celebrating the power of words to inspire change.
